Dear God,
I feel so many things. Help me to choose the things I believe.
I feel inadequate.
I believe that I have the power of Christ. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
I feel lost.
I believe that God knows right where I am. Luke 15:4-6
“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.”
I feel rejected.
I believe I am chosen. John 15:16
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
I feel weak.
I believe God makes me strong. Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign Lord gives me strength. He makes me sure-footed as a deer and keeps me safe on the mountains.
I feel not good enough.
I believe I am God’s masterpiece. Ephesians 2:9
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
I feel like someone took away my calling.
I believe no one can change God’s plans. Isaiah 14:27
For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him?
His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?
I feel like I will never be set free.
I believe Christ has set me free. Galatians 5:1
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
I feel betrayed and want to act in kind.
I believe God will honor my character in the face of adversity. Psalm 41:11-12
"They will not triumph over me, and I will know that you are pleased with me. You will help me, because I do what is right; you will keep me in your presence forever.”
I feel like we are going through this because we are not called.
I believe He has saved us and called us to a holy life — not because of anything we have done, but because of his own purpose and grace. 2 Timothy 1:9
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
I feel like God doesn’t have a plan for us.
I believe He has a plan to prosper us. Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
I feel if I am obedient then life should be easy and without trials.
I believe that trials will produce something priceless in me. James 1:2-4
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
I choose to believe what YOU say even when I don't feel it.
Love,
Me
So good. Thank you!
